Gaming Machines - Amusements with Prizes Permit
Provisions of The Gaming Act 1968 require an Amusement with Prizes Permit to be granted for gaming machines in certain premises.
The type of premises required for the provision of amusement with prizes depends on the use of the premises. Premises registered by the gaming board for other forms of gaming may have amusement with prizes machines without further permission. Machines may also be installed and used in premises licensed for gaming by the magistrates or in a members club registered with the magistrates for the use of the ?jackpot’ type fruit machines. In the case of other premises, application for a gaming machine permit must be made to the Local Authority.
Skill machines, which do not include an element of chance are not subject to control under the Gaming Act.
Amusements with Prizes Permits are granted for 3 years the fee for this is £32.
